Just Transition Landscape Mapping

Published: May 18, 2026

Governments, standard-setters, institutional investors, and peer initiatives increasingly recognize that the transition to a low-carbon, climate resilient economy must be just and respect human rights. Global norms, sustainability due diligence and reporting requirements, trade bans, and green finance taxonomies are reshaping expectations for business conduct, with significant implications for how businesses and financial institutions identify, manage, and account for just transition impacts, risks, and opportunities across their operations and value chains.

PCAP’s Just Transition Landscape Mapping, a joint project in collaboration with the UN Global Compact Network Germany (UN GCD), provides investors across asset classes and portfolio companies with an overview of the evolving just transition landscape, summarizing their scope and relevance for business and investment practices.

The mapping is featured in the UN GCD’s Integrating a Just Transition into Climate Transition Plans Toolbox.
