Stakeholder Engagement Guide

Published: April 27, 2026

Engagement with affected stakeholders is central to human rights and environmental due diligence and is a core component of people-centered climate action. To support investors in this work, Rights CoLab, together with the EIRIS Foundation, ESG Inteligente, Heartland Initiative, BSR, and PRI, has launched a beta version of the Stakeholder Engagement Guide, available on the Investor HREDD Precision Tools website.

The guidance helps investors assess how effectively their portfolio companies engage with affected stakeholders (or rights holders), including workers and communities. Grounded in leading standards, it introduces four Pillars and seven Effectiveness Criteria to guide more meaningful and accountable stakeholder engagement.
